I began knitting in college during my quiet prayer time as a way to battle anxiety and depression. In 2014, I launched NorthKnits on Etsy with my shop name as my spiritual acronym and reminder to need obey rejoice and thank Him (Christ).
The vision for my shop is centered on authentic handmade knitwear & genuine prayer. Through Northknits, I've been able to connect and inspire more than 19,000 on instagram. I design and collaborate with major brands. I get to make the most beautiful cozy yarn pieces and share them in-person and online with the world.
Seeing so many of us chase our maker dreams, compelled me to begin an amazing maker movement known as Our Maker Life, with four of my now lifelong maker friends. Through OML, my team and I have connected with more than 95,000 makers online through our OML events, blog and Make print books.
In the plainest since, I'm just a girl seeking God through knitting & crochet. I also love to read books, drink all the coffee, crochet, live the Chicago city-girl life, curl up and watch westerns with my amazing hubs-y, and so much more.
I hope this blog encourages and inspires you and to remind you that Light and love (and cozy!) is always a good way to live.
happy knitting/crocheting/reading good books
